NCD screening has been initiated in five selected Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in accordance with the guidelines and protocols issued by the Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM) and the Principal Secretary of Health on February 12, 2025. These guidelines emphasize early detection and management of NCDs, including hypertension, diabetes, and certain cancers, to reduce morbidity and mortality rates.

Key activities for this include:

  • Due List Preparation: Identified beneficiaries aged 30+ for targeted NCD screening.
  • Micro-plan Development: Coordinated with BPM and BCPM for structured implementation.
  • Capacity Building: Trained CHOs, MPWs, and ANMs on hypertension and diabetes protocols.
  • Community Engagement: Conducted awareness campaigns, health camps, and special screening sessions.

Referral and Monitoring: Established linkages with higher healthcare facilities for diagnosis and treatment follow-up.
