A Landscaping Study was conducted by Samyak in 4 Nagar Panchayats (aspirational cities) in Uttar Pradesh. The study explored health and healthcare in these cities, with a focus on vulnerable groups; foregrounding the experiences and voices of communities, frontline health workers and key stakeholders. 

The research objectives of the study were as follows:

  • Understanding the socio-demographic profile of the Nagar Panchayats and mapping existing local health facilities.
  • Assessing the current status of public health infrastructure and resources within the Nagar Panchayats.
  • Understanding stakeholder perspectives on the current state of health and healthcare delivery, their roles and challenges. 
  • Exploring community and frontline worker (FLW) perspectives on healthcare services, existing needs and gaps.
