Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) is a national initiative aimed to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates by providing free, comprehensive and quality antenatal care (ANC) to all pregnant women, ensuring their well-being and the health of their newborns. Key services include:
- Ante-natal checkup by the specialist/medical officer
- Free diagnostics services
- Immunization of pregnant women
- Identification and management of HRPs
- Management of anemia including iron-sucrose
- Counselling on nutrition, family planning, birth preparedness, newborn and post-natal care
We are working to ensure comprehensive and quality antenatal care by facilitating specialist visits, enhancing diagnostics and counselling, prioritizing high-risk pregnancies, and addressing anemia, missed visits, and the unique needs of adolescent and early pregnancies. Our interventions include:
- Ensuring availability of resources, diagnostics and supplies required for PMSMA.
- Pre-PMSMA sensitization of beneficiaries through FLWs
- Mobilization of 2nd and 3rd trimester PWs.
- Ensure listing of all HRPs and management.
